Protocol vs Service: ETP protocol specification is open and free. Embassy Service (authoritative issuance) is commercial. Local/non-authoritative implementations are free.
Service availability targets are defined in commercial agreements. Free/local implementations have no SLA. Service may be unavailable for maintenance.
Receipt generation is best-effort and non-blocking. Receipt write failures do not affect service delivery. Receipts are customer-owned and non-custodial.
Embassy stores only data necessary for protocol operation. No PII collected (except optional agent_name). Only hashes stored (not raw public keys or tokens).
Receipts are customer-owned and written to customer-controlled storage. Customer controls receipt retention and deletion. See Privacy.
Delegation chain data is self-reported by agents. Embassy does not verify, infer, or enrich delegation data. Delegation data is included in signed certificates but not verified.
Platforms may use delegation data for risk assessment. Embassy does not interpret or judge delegation data. Embassy provides cryptographic evidence only, not conclusions.
Embassy records cryptographic evidence (signed documents). Embassy does not interpret, enforce, arbitrate, or assign responsibility. Embassy provides evidence, not outcomes.
Policy decisions are made by platforms, enterprises, and governments. Embassy provides cryptographic infrastructure for verifiable decisions. Embassy does not make policy decisions.
Embassy provides cryptographic proof, not legal guarantees. Embassy does not guarantee legal compliance. Embassy does not provide legal advice.
Embassy does not guarantee 100% availability. Service may be unavailable for maintenance or incidents. Receipt generation is best-effort and non-blocking.
Changes to terms will be notified via service announcements. Continued use of service constitutes acceptance of new terms. Terms are versioned with service version. Historical terms available upon request.
Commercial inquiries: Contact or info@boonmind.io. Protocol governance is documented in GOVERNANCE.md.
Embassy is neutral infrastructure. No claims of jurisdiction or sovereignty. Terms are service agreements, not legal frameworks. Disputes resolved via commercial agreements. Embassy provides receipts as evidence, not arbitration.
